At The Study Hall...

The Study Hall (TSH) at Emmaus House is a not-for-profit organization with year round programing for children. Our mission is to encourage and empower the Peoplestown community children and families to become productive contributors to society through education and enrichment activities. TSH opened its doors in 1990 and located in the Peoplestown community, just south of Turner Field in Atlanta, Georgia.

Presently, TSH serves 80+ children in kindergarten to eighth grade. Participants attend one of the Atlanta Public Schools which serve the Peoplestown community.

During the school year, TSH conducts an after-school program Monday through Friday from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Participants, aka Scholars, are picked up from school by staff and transported to TSH facility. Scholars receive a snack and dinner at the end of the day. Divided by grade levels, Scholars receive homework help and tutoring in problem areas. Additionally, Scholars work in our computer lab and play on our playground. Click here for greater detail of TSH's scholar model.

During the summer months, TSH conducts a day camp called Camp Exploration. Starting at 8 AM, camp offers breakfast, snack, and lunch for campers. Remembering academics, TSH offers athletics, enrichment activities and field-trips over seven weeks to expose campers to the world around them.

Funding for this program is provided in part by the Georgia Council for the Arts through the appropriations of the General Assembly. GCA is a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts. Funding for the Fulton County Arts Council is provided by the Fulton County Commission under the guidance of the Fulton County Arts Council.
